Growing up I have lived in Pine Island, Lake City, Amboy, Alden and Albert Lea.
Graduated from Alden High School class of 1957 with 15 others. I started working that summer in Wells at Carlson Motor recording sales of tractor and car parts. Later that fall I left Carlson to move to the big town of Albert Lea and to have an apartment which I shared with five other gals above Petersen Funeral Chapel on north Broadway. We did have fun! Oh yes, I did have a job. I did the invoicing for F.W.Woolworth Departmet Store and also helped with payroll. After 3 yers I needed a change Off to Albert Lea Tent and Awning for 2 years. Then I heard of an opening at the Albert Lea School Districts main office. But before I was interviewed they had an opening at Southwest Junior High. I decided to interview for....well the rest is history...I was the principals secretary for 39 years.
I retired at age 62 and haven't missed going to work, only the contact with people.
